A Taoist Guide for the Physically Challenged
One With the Sofa reflects the coming together of Darshini’s photography and meditation work. Like all her artistic endeavors, it appeared in her conscious mind upon awakening one morning. The design for this project consisted of posing family and friends on the living room sofa. And then – by placing each image in a magical, otherworldly landscape – blurring the boundaries between our limited identities and our transcendental Selves.
Darshini painstakingly created each image and wrote each meditative text. By viewing the images and by learning to see ourselves as expansive and free, rather than limited by our bodies, we discover how to relax into our present experience and move through to the other side where boundless peace can be found.
One With the Sofa is an invitation to sit down, breathe slowly and deeply and consider our connection to all Life. Repeating the meditation until it sinks into our depths, we discover the vast world beyond our personal Self.

Here are just a few comments from readers:
“What a gem One with the Sofa is! Every page is throbbing intensely with heart energy and everywhere you can hear the voice of a seasoned sage speaking from her experience. Rarely have I seen a better integration of words and pictures. They play off each other with a dynamism that is both delightful and insightful. It is a contemporary contribution to the great Taoist tradition, so simple and therefore so powerful in its potential to awaken.” – Frank Coppieters, Ph.D.
“Original, fun, uniquely creative, colorful, and wildly inspiring.” – Gayle Green, Transpersonal Therapist and Meditation Teacher.
“Utterly charming and magical, endearing and full of wisdom.” – Kristina Jones, Meditation Teacher.
